Newt pond

Ponds host significantly more biodiversity than other freshwater systems. However, each pond has its own ecosystem.

It is a breeding ground, a refuge, or a larder for many species. They are also shelters that allow many living creatures to survive difficult temporary climatic conditions (drought, fire, heatwave, etc.). A pond is therefore of major interest for biodiversity.
